Dozens of Brooklyn neighbors joined the 2024 Black History Futures Month event, Safeguarding Heritage: Art, Community, and the Preservation of Black Spaces, at Weeksville Heritage Center.  This vital, interactive discussion explored the history of Black folks in America and its relation to the future of Black New York, shedding light on innovative strategies and collaborative efforts to preserve the profound legacies embedded in Black spaces, particularly Brooklyn. 

Panelists: Dr. Raymond Codrington, President and CEO of Weeksville Heritage Center, Shanna Sabio, Co-Founder and Executive Director of GrowHouse NYC and Barbara Bullard, President and CEO of the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute.
